Aussie STEM Stars: Georgia Ward-Fear - Reptile biologist and explorer

Aussie STEM Stars is an inspiring children's series that celebrates Australia's experts in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Each book is written by an award-winning children's author and follows the real-life stories of some of Australia's top scientists and inventors, chosen on the basis of their pioneering work. Themes explored include childhood, school, family, and formative experiences, what inspired them to pursue their chosen path, how they persevered in the face of challenges, and what they have contributed to science all over the world.

From a young age, Georgia Ward-Fear always felt a connection to wild animals and even wilder places. As a child she would watch David Attenborough investigate the mysteries of nature and was inspired to follow in his footsteps.

Georgia's conservation journey has seen her travel the world, empower young girls to become environmental leaders, and carry out trailblazing work to save native animals from the threat of cane toads. Hers is an inspiring story of an adventurous spirit whose love of the natural world made her a STEM superstar.
