Let us travel back 95 million years in time, to a time before people, to a very different world; a world of dinosaurs.

How do we know about this time? A record is there for us to read; a record written in fossilised footprints. You can see these footprints at Lark Quarry near Winton in western Queensland.

This is the story of a real dinosaur stampede involving three different types of dinosaurs. They are:

  • Coelurosaur: A small carnivore (meat eater), about the size of a hen. It eats insects, small animals, eggs, and possibly fruit and berries.
  • Ornithopod: A herbivore (plant eater) about the size of an emu.
  • Theropod: 4 tonnes of sharp-clawed, meat- eating dinosaur, similar to, but a little smaller than a Tyrannosaurus Rex. It eats other dinosaurs - raw.
