Lots More Crafty Rhymes and Activities

With a set of 6 titles, the 'Crafty Rhymes and Activities' series offers a fun and interesting combination of poetry and craft activities to develop language skills.

The development of language skills is central to learning as it permeates across all subject areas. The repetitive and rhythmical nature of children's poetry has proved successful in capturing the interest of students. The stimulating poetic approach can be used as motivation for lessons, extension of ideas, as well as relating to life experiences. Furthermore, teachers can modify the supplementary activities listed for each poem to provide ideas and suit the needs of the class.

Coupled with the poems are craft activities, utilising aspects such as colour, texture, size and three-dimensional view, which cooperate to further the whole language experience. The pre-determined craft ideas serve as an excellent starting-point for further ideas to be discovered and developed by teachers and children.

The activities are suitable for all children from 5-10 years of age.
