Puzzle Australia

Puzzle Australia is a book of 48 reproducible blackline masters designed as a teaching aid for social and environmental studies for upper primary and lower secondary school pupils. It provides a variety of activities based on the theme Australia.

Puzzle Australia is divided into seven sections:

• Flora and Fauna
• History
• Geography
• Natural Resources
• States and Territories
• Sport
• Arts and Politics

The puzzles include wordgrids, wordsearches and crosswords. A Quick Workers box extends the use of each sheet by challenging pupils to go on to make up their own puzzles.

Puzzle Australia puzzles might be used as:

• focus points for class lessons
• revision sheets to consolidate class lessons
• follow-up lessons
• exercises for fast workers
• homework sheets

Pupils of a variety of ages, year levels and abilities can enjoy these puzzles – only the time taken and need, if any, for outside help from a teacher, parent or classmate differs. Puzzles can also be readily adapted to suit a variety of age, grade or ability levels, for example, by inserting an answer or two into a grid.
