Super IQ English Level 2 (5-6 years)

We gather you are a parent who likes to read with your child! Reading with your child is a great and enriching activity. As you read, your child learns to listen. He/she hears the sounds of words and learns pronunciation even before noticing or recognising the words. Through this shared activity, he/she can begin to develop early literacy skills and better communication skills.

Reading and writing are important aspects of language learning, and these skills have a positive correlation with IQ. Reading supports emotional intelligence, too. It helps a child understand certain situations and relationships among people and things.

Super IQ English is filled with interesting real world facts and general knowledge, selected for young children, to

• pique their curiosity about the world;
• spark interest in the things around them;
• expand their imagination to think creatively;
• encourage them to read more; and
• enhance their thinking and problem-solving skills through the learning of new knowledge.

Each book looks at four common themes familiar and loved by many children:

• Level 1: Animals, Vehicles, Food, and On the Farm
• Level 2: Baby Animals, Occupations, Birds, and Dinosaurs.

The interesting riddle style adopted by the books begins each activity with clues to stimulate curiosity, and encourage reasoning and logical thinking. The clues can also be found in the vivid artwork and photographs.

Both the clues and answers are written in the first person, introducing fun facts and offering general knowledge, as if speaking to the child. A simple activity, filling in the blanks to reveal the answer, requires your help. Help your child fill in the letters of the words, clearly and slowly. The activities in the theme Dinosaurs (Level 2) require you and your child to attempt to pronounce difficult words. Do this very fun activity together!

Use the summary page at the end of every theme to help your child recap sounds and words, and recall the fun facts you read together. You will be surprised at what your child remembers!
