Tech by Design Workbook

The Tech by Design Workbook can be used on its own or with the student text book.

Part One: Worksheets features practical activities and guidance for approaching learning in a fun and engaging format. It focuses on understanding the design processes and key knowledge for the materials and technologies specialisations, engineering principles and systems, and food and fibre production technologies contexts.

Part Two: Challenges provides a framework for the creation of design solutions across a range of materials. It takes an integrated approach and addresses the technologies and society content, as well as the processes and production skills for creating designed solutions through a series of design challenges suitable for wood, metal, plastic, textiles, modelling and prototyping. The inside front cover features a full-colour guide to which materials can be used with the challenges.

Part Three: Templates allows students to build a folio of work according to the design process. Templates can be written directly into or used as a guide for students completing folios in partially or entirely digital format. Clear directions on how to use the templates are integrated into the design challenges.

Part Four: Answers includes the answers (or suggested answers depending on the type of questions) to selected worksheet activities.
