The Top Notes series has been created to assist HSC students of English in their understanding of set texts. Top Notes are easy to read, providing analysis of issues and discussion of important ideas contained in the texts.

Particular care has been taken to ensure that students are able to examine each text in the context of the module it has been allocated to.

Each text includes:

• Notes on the specific module
• Plot summary
• Character analysis
• Setting
• Thematic concerns
• Language studies
• Essay questions and a modelled response
• Other textual material
• Study practice questions
• Useful quotes
