Vocabulary MCQs Explained! Primary 6

Vocabulary MCQs Explained (Primary 1 to 6) is a series of vocabulary workbooks designed to enhance the vocabulary of primary school pupils through focused practice.

Each book in the series comprises two sections — a thematic section and a revision section. The thematic worksheets help pupils to build a rich vocabulary of related words and phrases that will enable them to speak and write vividly and accurately on a range of topics. The Revision worksheets present a random selection of words and phrases that pupils should be acquainted with at their respective levels. In the Challenge Yourself! worksheets, pupils will encounter a more demanding selection of words. Overall, the revision section mirrors the format of school examinations and the PSLE, giving pupils rigorous practice and preparation.

The unique feature of the series is the detailed explanation of every answer. These explanations provide not just the meanings of individual words, but also examples of how these words are used in a sentence. Tips on how the words should or should not be used are included as well. Furthermore, pupils are shown how to pick up contextual clues, which is an important reading skill.

It is hoped that as pupils work on the exercises, they will not only expand their vocabulary, but also improve their ability to use words accurately to communicate ideas, thoughts and feelings. Ultimately, they will be better equipped to express themselves more proficiently in the classroom and beyond.
