Handwriting Conventions 4 (NSW Foundation Handwriting Style)
Teachers 4 Teachers Handwriting Conventions 4 is the fifth in a series of seven books designed to assist in the development of skills necessary to write in the Foundation Handwriting style. The seven book series is a K-6 sequential program whose continuum follows the NSW syllabus guidelines.
This book provides exercises designed to consolidate the cursive handwriting concepts presented in Year 3. Year 4 students will also learn some alternative 'letter formation' and 'letter joining' options.
This books follows a thematic approach to capture the interests of Year 4 students. It focuses on famous Australian landmarks, both natural and man-made. Related issues such as 'early explorations', 'heritage conservation' as well as 'climate and erosion' are also touched upon. Students will find this subject matter engrossing. Teachers, too will find the book's content relevant to their stage II HSIE Australiana studies and Science and Technology work.
To further engage students, subject matter is presented using fun layouts and appealing artwork.
A slope card is provided with this textbook. It should be used as an aid for all handwriting lessons. As stated earlier, its regular use reinforces spatial relations.
